Our Intensive spoken English Course is a 20 hour / 25 lessons per week study programme. You will study either 3 hours in the morning or the afternoon, depending on your level, from Monday to Friday, plus an extra hour every lunchtime. For the extra hour, you can choose Pronunciation, Writing or Communication. Ideal for students who want to focus on something specific.
General English program gives you all the skills you need to master the English language. It is designed for students who want to become fluent in English as fast as possible.
Key Language Skills:
Speaking, Listening, Pronunciation, Vocabulary, Reading & Writing
Students practice conversation and speaking skills using practical, real-world English. They learn to write with accuracy and effectiveness, develop strategic listening skills and improve their use of grammar.
Options for extra hour classes:
Writing: this is for students who need extra help with writing skills, and suits people wanting to take exams later, but who do not have the right level to join an exam class. Students use exam style tasks to improve grammar, develop vocabulary, and learn about structure. Having good study skills is an important part of this course, so students are encouraged to learn good habits. The course is for students at Intermediate level and below. Students who take this option can move on to exam preparation courses with more confidence in this difficult skill.
Pronunciation: this is a higher level English speaking course for students who need to develop their spoken English, and want to learn how to sound more natural in speech. Students listen to a variety of authentic listening texts, and study the basics of word and sentence stress, rhythm and intonation, before moving on to more advanced features such as linking, elision and ellipsis. Your own weaknesses will be identified and strategies given for making improvements. You will need to be at a strong intermediate level or higher to choose this option.
Communication: this course runs at all levels and focuses on speaking English. Students take part in conversations, debates, discussions, arguments and a variety of role play situations, all with the aim of improving general communication skills. You will get the chance to practice your English speaking skills both in and outside the classroom, and we encourage you to communicate with people from all over the world as well as native English speakers.
When you arrive at the school, your placement test will help us decide which Intensive option of English speaking skills will be the best for you.
Disclaimer: we reserve the right not to run any of the above intensive courses if the demand for them falls below three students wishing to take the course at any one time.
