Description

You will have classes with adults of all ages, and after lessons you will participate in a specially organized activity programme for mature students of 50+ years.

20 lessons per week
1 lesson = 45 minutes
Timetable: 9.00 – 12.30 Monday to Friday
Starting dates: every Monday
Maximum class size: 8
Levels: Elementary to Advanced
Materials used in class will be provided by the college.

Before you join a class you will take a level test. If you find that the level of your class is too difficult or too easy, or if you are unhappy with the class for any other reason, please ask to speak to the Director of Studies.
The first class (09.00 - 10.30) is a grammar class. Teachers will use a variety of up to date materials selected from leading EFL text books and from authentic sources such as current newspapers and magazines.
The second class (11.00 - 12.30) is a skills class. You will have opportunities to practise your listening and speaking skills. Short stimulus reading passages and communication games may be used as a focus for speaking skills and a variety of recorded materials will be used to develop listening skills.

The programme for Seniors (age 50+ years) is available for a 3 week period in August. It is a special programme for older students and includes an Edinburgh Festival show each week. Social evenings will be in pleasant surroundings - not noisy pubs - and the group will be accompanied by a more mature leader who can engage in interesting conversation.

The activity programme consists of
•    1 full-day and 1 half-day excursion
•    2 cultural afternoons - Royal Yacht Britannia, Scottish Parliament, etc
•    2 social evenings (Theatre, pub visit)
