Lessons are normally held during the following times between Mondays and Fridays:Morning lessons: 08.45-10.15 + break + 10.45 – 12.15Mid-day lessons: 12:45-14.15Afternoon lessons: 14.45-16.15 + break + 16.45-18.15The NSTS English Language institute may vary the timetable between mornings and afternoons with class tuition being held on 4 or 5 days per week, Monday to Saturday’s included.
Themed English Lessons (TEL): Available for learners taking 30 lessons or more with 10 lessons being TEL including: Interior Design, Creative Writing, Fashion, Art History, Literature, Film, Digital & Emerging Media and Music. Themes rotate once every week on an eight-week cycle and subject to change. Requires learner to register for TEL.
Lessons for international adult learners in groups of maximum 8, average 6, learners with teaching oriented towards two age brackets the young adult of age 18 to 35 years and the established adult over the age of 35 of European tuition levels A2 to C2, plus three invitations to events to enhance conversation practice outside the classroom during interactive social encounters, free use of WiFi throughout the school and internet in the self-access resource centre and assistance of the Customer Relations and Services personnel.
Weekly Focus Workshop: alternates each week, between either pronunciation or remedial grammar. Registration is required, and participation is open to all levels.
Lessons are in very small groups for maximum teacher attention and speaking opportunity. The lessons focus on the 4 language skills, as well as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, and equip you with the effective ways to improve your fluency and confidence while speaking about every day topics. The equivalent of 12 non-formal lessons per week are led by the Customer Relations staff as English Social Encounters, where you speak with villagers while visiting the quaint old villages of the South; exchange your views about the magnificence of Valletta and the opulent life of the Knights of Malta; join in a debate after viewing an epic film; discuss familiar topics of interest at an open-air café or over a mouth-watering pizza; whisper your thoughts as you stroll along the silent and suggestive streets of Mdina by night; sing away your popular English tunes at a Karaoke bar; question the intriguing abilities of prehistoric man and his incredible and uniquely magnificent temples, and more.
