Duration of the course: 2 weeks
15 hours English tuition + 12 hours Sailing
A maximum of 15 students per class
Students take part in the Classic Junior Summer School tuition programme and then in the afternoons attend the sailing programme with Irish teenagers. Malahide, on the coast of Dublin is an ideal base for students to learn about water sports. The sailing school is just a 10 minute walk from our centre. The estuary itself is a perfect place to learn any of these activities as it's quite sheltered and the water is not excessively deep - most adults and teenagers are never out of their dept. Each afternoon will include 3 hours of multi activity sailing. All levels can be catered for from total beginner to advanced and all instructors are Qualified ISA (Irish Sailing Association) instructors.
In addition to English language tuition and sailing, students will take part in Saturday cultural tours for example to Grendalough Lakes, Kilkenny City, Dublin zoo.
Language classes: All students are given a written test on their first day to determine their level of English. The test consists of 25 multiple choice questions. Students are then placed in a class at the appropriate level. On finishing their course, students are given a Student Exit Report detailing their academic progress. Lessons are interesting and motivating - the main aim is to teach students to communicate fluently and not to be afraid of expressing their ideas in a foreign language.
All students are given 3 month's access to our E-Learning Portal and we encourage students to continue their studies through this media after leaving the college.
