A course for students aged 15-18 who want to learn English and have a great summer holiday in one of the UK’s most popular holiday and language study destinations.
Included in the package: homestay accommodation, breakfast, lunch and evening meals, lessons, activities and excursions (with transport and entrances).
Course Objectives
• To give you an experience of English as a living language that will motivate and inspire you to continue learning English
• To give you a language boost to increase your confidence and fluency, particularly in listening and speaking
• To help you improve the level of your English through a combination of language input and practice activities
• To help you develop the study skills that will enable you to continue learning English effectively
• To increase your understanding of and sensitivity towards other cultures
Levels
We run classes at five levels:
Elementary (CEFR A1 – A2) Can communicate with enough language for basic needs and simple situations.
Pre-Intermediate (CEFR A2) Can communicate with enough language for everyday practical needs.
Intermediate (CEFR B1) Can communicate effectively in most situations but sometimes has to work hard to communicate effectively.
Upper Intermediate (CEFR B2) Can communicate effectively in most situations and usually can easily re-phrase in order to be understood.
Advanced (CEFR C1) Can communicate effectively in all but the most difficult situations.
You will take a test on the first day and your teachers will review your progress regularly. They will give you a report and certificate at the end of your course.
Accommodation
Single room homestay, with breakfast and evening meal. Lunch vouchers on weekdays, which you can use in cafes near the school, plus cash for lunch at weekends.
Social Activities and Excursions
Five afternoon and evening social activities every week (fun activities, sports and local visits).
A full-day excursion every Saturday to places like London, Oxford, Cambridge, Canterbury or Bath and Stonehenge.
Transport
A local bus pass is included. Airport transfers are not included, but are compulsory for students aged 15 unless accompanied by an adult (as is assisted check-in on departure). We strongly recommend that all under 18s book airport transfers.
Care of Students Under the Age of 18
We have dedicated staff to look after you if you come to LTC Brighton without an adult. They will get to know you individually and will always be there to help you if you have a problem or a question.
Note that classes may be held in suitable premises outside the school.
